BLOG: #OMGgoesIRL
In November of 2017, I started #OMGFemaleFilmmakers - a video production company that creates video content for local nonprofits - while working full-time at HP and completing the final two months of my undergrad program at Full Sail University. It was an intense time of work, study, and building, and it was the best time to do all three. Once I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography, I was able to transition my weekends of study to weekends of creating video content for my clients. The business grew, then in 2022, I made the leap to leave the corporate world and work fulltime for myself.
That leap not only allowed me space to truly grow my production company, it also gave me the opportunity to really explore my creative storytelling abilities. I went from "How To Clear A Paper Jam" videos at HP, to sharing the mission and valuable stories of nonprofits across our state. I watched a nonprofit gain over $100,000 at their yearly gala, because my video made the audience cry. That's powerful! And a testament to the importance of video for any company, whether nonprofit or corporation.
In the fall of 2022, I stumbled upon my first physical studio space in Garden City and by March of 2023, I was celebrating the founding of my second LLC, OMG Studios Boise. We had a good run in that space, then in February of 2025, I found our new home in a business complex off Cole and Franklin. It's a lovely little studio that supports 17 different backdrops, an audio recording space, and a comfortable lobby with couches, snacks, and windows that let the light shine through!
As we all transition into 2026, OMG is also transitioning and becoming a new brand - In Real Life Films. Real stories. Real people. Real life on film. We collaborate with agencies and brands to transform ideas into authentic, lasting video content, both on location and at our physical studio space. We bring truth, humanity, and connection to the screen. It is our goal to be a trusted ally in storytelling - creating films that inspire, uplift, and leave a lasting impact for generations. What better way could we dance into 2026, than with the realness we were all meant to experience and share together?
#OMGgoesIRL on January 1st, 2026. Celebrate with us as we close 2025, thank the beautiful people who created with us over the last year, and usher in a new beginning. Stop by on December 31, 4pm-9pm at 24 S. Cole Rd. We'll have snacks and beverages - it's a great time for an afterwork stop-in and a pre-funk to the rest of your night of celebration. See you there!
